An out of ordinary wedding ceremony took place at Tutong Town yesterday.
Parading their new found union, Joseph Wong Hiew Hang and his newlywed wife Chua Hui Wen rode through the streets of Tutong Town on a tricycle.

Instead of riding in a luxury car, Joseph Wong Hiew Hang, a photography studio owner who met his wife three years ago, chose to paddle his wife on a tricycle around Tutong Town as part of the wedding ceremony.

It's the first time that such a unique wedding ceremony took place in the Sultanate.
In a telephone interview, Joseph Wong Hiew Hang said: "I wanted to give my wife an unforgettable wedding. And it's has also been my dream to paddle my wife on a tricycle during our wedding day."

Describing his preparation, he said: "Before the wedding, I pitched the idea of riding a tricycle for the wedding to my wife and she wholeheartedly agreed."

"Initially, I almost abandon the idea because I couldn't' find a tricycle. However, when a customer walked into my studio recently with a picture of a tricycle and found out who the owner was, who then generously lent the tricycle for the special occasion.

"The Royal Brunei Police Force then granted my request for the memorable, yet unique, wedding ceremony. And finally, my dream of a perfect wedding came true."

Decorated in beautiful red ribbons, Joseph Wong Hiew Hang paddled his wife on the tricycle and rode through the traffic of Tutong Town with the escort of family members on bicycles. People on the street and motorists stop to catch a glimpse of the wedding procession.
